By now, you have your portal general information set up, logo, store name, emails, categories, products, taxes, shipping, and payment methods.
it's time to start preparing for the "Go live" event and this will require testing.
Prepare a notepad to make a list of changes you will want to do after the testing.
We'll be testing user registration, order placing, request for a quote, product information request, and contact us form.
8.1. New user registration
Log out of the admin by hovering over your user name in the top right corner and selecting "Log out"
Open the frontend of your portal (website your users will see)
Click on "Wholesale" -> "Registration"
Note: by default, new user registration is set to Auto-approve, if you want to change it to require manual approval, that can be done in WooCommerce -> Settings -> Wholesale Lead -> Auto Approve New Leads
8.2. Place a test order
Login as a new registered user on the frontend, go to any category, select a product, add to the shopping cart, click checkout.
At this point, check:
- shipping
- taxes
- price
- payment methods
Place a test order for every payment method you offer to see what notifications will be sent to a customer and admin and how the order will be shown in the admin.
8.3. Test request a quote
Go to Products -> All Products -> Find a product which you want to receive quotes for -> Edit -> Product Data: Advanced -> RFQ-ToolKit: Enable RFQ for this product -> Update
Go to the product page on the frontend, it will have "Add to Quote" button instead of "Add to cart", click on "Add to Quote" and follow the process of submitting a quote as a customer.
That quote will be listed in the Orders menu as a "quote".
Update the product price, add shipping or any fees -> scroll down - add notes -> check an option if you want a customer to be able to pay right from the email, if you want that quote to expire or not
change status to "Quotes sent" -> click Update.
A customer will receive that quote by email with an option to pay:
Click on Pay and check out to see how this will work for a customer.
8.4. Test "Questions? Request a call back" request
Go to any product page -> click "Questions? Request a call back" button -> Fill out the form -> Send
Check if you received that request by email as an admin.
That form can be adjusted in "Forms" -> Contact us: "Edit"
8.5. Test "Contact us" form
Go to "Contact Us" page as a customer and submit a test request.
Check if you received that request by email as an admin.
That form can be adjusted in "Forms" -> Contact us: "Edit"
Let us know if you need any help there.
